Wixie recently attended the PatriotiCats show in Milford, Mass. She entered as a "Household Pet", since her kinked tail and patellar luxation prevent her from being shown as a traditional "show cat".

She did great! It was her first show, and not only did we all discover that she loves showing off, but she actually came home with eight ribbons from a twelve ring show! The judges loved her, every one of them commenting on how sweet she is, how well groomed she was, and they all chuckled when they found the kinked tail (which couldn't be seen, due to the grooming). There's no rule against physical "deformities" (what an ugly word!) in the Household Pet category, so the kinked tail may atcually have earned her a few points.

When the judge would walk by the show-cage, Wixie would start walking in excited little circles, hoping they would play with her. Usually, they couldn't resist. She's such a ham! Anyway, after this one show she shot from "never shown before", past "Master", all the way to "Grand Master"!

I'd just finished shooting some other pictures, and when I came back into the house Wixie ran to the door flopped over into this position. How could I resist? There were a few shots left in the camera, and this is the best of the two that I took of her.

She knows she's adorable.

This shot's not as good as the first one, but it's still good enough to include. (Besides, who want to look at a page of photos, if there's only one photo on the page?)
